Mine is the Jackdaw closely followed by the humble rook.

The jays favourite trick is to land right in front of my cats and screech just when they (the cats) really psych themselves into believing they are panthers as they stalk a sparrow.

Feline nervous breakdowns invariably ensue.

My least favourite are the crows on Romford Municipal Golf Course.

30 years ago, they started teasing my Dad's Irish setter by swooping low, just above his head, and flying off again.

The dog got completely out of control, rushing up and down trying to catch them while they stayed just out of reach. He was just oblivious to anything else.

Meanwhile, I was shouting myself hoarse trying to get him back, and the golfers were pissing themselves laughing at me.

Living in SW France for past 7 years I had a lot of beautiful Jays in my garden, but my favourite is the Hoopoe, a superb bird that I’d never seen in the UK.

Jeremy Corvid ~ Now there's a scruffy old crow for you

Ravens, I like ravens. They were getting quite rare because of persecution by man, but now their numbers are recovering

Re: Your favourite corvid?
Unlike jackdaws, who know how to treat a jilldaw, drakes are rapists.

Of course, that's gross anthropomorphism, but when telling your sons about the birds and the bees, select the birds very carefully.

And don't mention the bees at all, as drones' knobs snap off the one time they have sex.

Ducks are not scroungers, it is humans feeding them shite that is not a normal part of that diet. And why do humans do it? So they can feel good about themselves, it certainly doesn't benefit the ducks who just get addicted to the shit.

People are cunts.

Re: Your favourite corvid?
C&P

Ducks and swans normally eat leaves, seeds and aquatic plants and if you feed them white bread it causes their wings to grow too quickly, it develops before the rest of their body so the wings droop and stick out so that bird can never fly.

"It looks as if it's been in a fight but it hasn't, it's a disease that's purely from being fed white bread."

If waterfowl eat white bread, containing too much protein and too little vitamin E, one or both wings can develop to turn outwards and the bird is then unable to fly.

despite people having done it for years and there not being a massive reduction in the number if ducks?

Re: Your favourite corvid?
Bread in small quantities would cause no harm but it would have little nutritional value to a bird. It really is junk food for them and a constant diet of it fucks them up in much the same.as a human gets fucked up if it constantly eats junk food.
